Taking Every Thought Captive

I felt like I was meant to share this with you all because it will be exactly what one of you needs to hear today to see something change in your life!

Recently I've been having waves of fear and anxiety attacks that have been lasting for days on end.

In the midst of this I've been struggling to find the hope for my life. Thoughts have been running through my head, leading me on deep rabbit trails to feelings of isolation, despair and disconnectedness from God.
I find myself thinking "I don't want to feel like this but I can't seem to shake these thoughts and feelings."
I mean seriously who wants to live a life full of crippling fear and anxiety? Not me!

But how did I get to this point? How did these attacks start happening? How did these thoughts and feelings find a home in my heart and mind? And most importantly how do I get free?

God's been showing me one of the keys to freedom, which is quite simply "Take every thought captive".

I read a quote the other day that said: "Thoughts are like birds, we can't stop them flying past our head, but we can stop them from building their nests in our hair"

We can't stop thoughts popping up in our head, but we don't have to let them build a home up in there!

In 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 Paul says that we have the power and authority to take every thought captive for Christ.

I don't know about you, but when I get a thought in my head it's so easy to just accept it as a valid thought and allow it a place in my mind. But these thoughts actually take us on a journey!

Go with this picture! Every thought is like a train. Trains come and go just like thoughts but as soon as you accept a certain thought, it's as if you step onto that train and allow it to take you to its end destination.

This is how we end up in destination cities of hopelessness, stress, anxiety, fear, addiction and many more. These cities are called strongholds.

YOU can take every thought captive, this means don't get on that train. Don't allow that thought to nest in your hair. By doing this we stop strongholds taking root in our lives that affect and control the way we live

The good news is that God can easily move us to the place he intended us to live in. Surrounded by peace, love, and relationship.
He says:
"But they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:31

God has been transforming my mind and showing me those thoughts that are good and from Him and those that I shouldn't even touch with a barge pole.

I don't know where you're at spiritually or emotionally, but if any of this relates to you, if you've had fear and anxiety as a companion for a while or anything else. This is for you. God does not leave you in that place. His heart is for you to be free. And I declare in His MIGHTY name a release from all those things!

God has promised He will never let us face something that we don't have the strength to overcome. And at the end of every test there is a testimony.
Goodbye fear and anxiety hello FREEDOM & LIFE!

Verses for you:

“Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” James 4:7

Psalm 91 just read it over and over.

2 Corinthians 10:4-5 I like the message version
“The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”

Psalm 34:4-10, 15, 17-20
“I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. This poor man called, and the Lord heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them. Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. Fear the Lord, you his holy people, for those who fear him lack nothing. The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.

The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry;

The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all; he protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken.”
